The SCTDA's participation in this year's exhibition is considered one of the most important events on the Authority's calendar for this year.

Mohamed Al Noman, Director General of the SCTDA, said of the Authority's plans for this years event,

"Sharjah's primary purpose in participation in this year's ATM is to introduce the emirate's new brand and identity to the market. As the Middle East's premier travel and tourism event, ATM offers us a great opportunity to launch our regional branding campaign and to introduce Sharjah's new identity whilst maintaining our position as a leader on the world tourism map."

"Through its participation in this year's event, the SCTDA will broaden horizons with its new brand strategy, which encompasses an entirely new approach, whereby the development of both, the private and the public sectors will ultimately attract even more tourists and investors to our shores. They, in turn, will benefit from the outstanding investment environment while simultaneously experiencing the emirate's value as a business and leisure tourist destination, rich in culture and heritage as well as world-class facilities," Al Noman said.

Al Noman expressed high expectations for the unveiling of the SCTDA's glamorous new identity, which will be revealed at the Authority's unique new stand, whose design highlights all the elements and components of the recently launched Brand Sharjah. The 440 meter stand, is 30% larger than last year's stand and will display the cultural, heritage and tourist attractions as well as educational, entertainment and business facilities, and the unique attractions of the emirate's eastern coast. The SCTDA will provide visitors with information on the emirate in both Arabic and English, in order to familiarize them with the emirate's many attractions.

Sharjah's delegation of representatives will be headed by SCTDA Chairman, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, and will include senior representatives from the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Al Qasba Development Authority, the Sharjah Museums Department, the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club, Radisson SAS Resort, Sharjah Millennium Hotel, Embassy Suites, Sharjah National Hotels (Holiday International, Marbella Resort & Oceanic Hotel & Resort), MH Group of Hotels (Sharjah Carlton Hotel, Beach Hotel Sharjah, Nova Park Hotel, Golden Beach Motel), Al Khalidiah Tourism, Tropic International Tours, Spark Residence, Al Maha Regency Suites, Al Bustan Beach Hotel, Prime Tower Hotel, Sharjah Premier Hotel and Resort and Lou Lou'a Beach Resort.

Sharjah's participation in the four-day expo marks the official debut of Brand Sharjah, which was launched during a special ceremony last week. The event will represent a significant platform from which to launch the new brand globally and to promote the emirate's new identity, which includes important strategies and initiatives that will add greater momentum to the emirate's fast growing tourism sector, as well as augmenting the emirate's position on the world's tourism map.
