- PRESS RELEASE
Tiffany & Co. unveils Orchid from its Gehry Collection, a highly stylized range of pendants, brooches and hook earrings inspired by the charm and mystique of the exotic bloom.
Designed by Tiffany's latest collaborator, Frank Gehry, hailed as one of the greatest architects of all time, Orchid recreates the tactile and visual appeal of nature in its most delicate form.
Each piece is crafted in either sterling silver, 18k yellow and white gold with pave diamonds and designed to cause a stir for its graceful organic beauty.
Explained Pegah Goldooz, General Manager of Tiffany & Co in the UAE: "For almost two centuries, Tiffany has joined hands with some of the most creative minds. Its partnership with master architect Frank Gehry has given way to exceptional jewellery that ups the ante of design. This trailblazing collection is a must for those who are keeping watch of the future of jewellery".
In Orchid, metal turns to pliant acquiescence with drop pendants recreated to capture every twirl and droop of the mystical flower. Strung on an 18" black fabric cord, these pieces are designed for the woman with unique sensibility.
The Orchid brooch, whose organic contours seduce the eye, is crafted in sterling silver with a brushed interior. Pinned on a simple dress or the lapel of a coat, it is a piece that will set one apart anywhere.
Both the Orchid drop-earrings and double drop-earrings are fashioned from sterling silver. They are large, engaging and eminently suited for the bold and discerning jewellery lover.
For those with a penchant for the yellow metal, Orchid offers a small eye-catching drop-pendant.
For those who prefer subtle shimmer, Orchid proposes an exquisitely-crafted drop-pendant in white gold accentuated by dazzling pave diamonds on the inner lining of one petal for a truly dramatic touch to any fashion ensemble.
The Gehry Collection is based on the architect's life-long obsession with art.
Just as he has built profoundly brilliant works of architecture set in myriad landscapes, so now does he turn to the most intimate of all the arts, jewellery design, creating provocative new forms scaled perfectly to the body.
According to him, architecture and design are about process. Sketching and shaping three-dimensional models to conceptualize different possibilities are the essence of creation, whether in architecture, jewellery, or any other art form.
The impulse is always the same - to discover new forms that have a natural flow and a relevance to contemporary life.
With Tiffany's expertise in jewellery making and superb selection of materials, the design master has definitely accomplished that.
Discover Orchid from the Gehry Collection at Tiffany & Co. boutiques in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Every purchase turns even more special as it comes wrapped in Tiffany's famous Blue Box - a symbol of life's finest moments.
