While its co-participants get the opportunity to network with the global tourism and travel industry players to achieve the ambitious tourism goals of Abu Dhabi.
Mr. Ali Al Hosani, ADTA Director of Promotions, said: 'For the fourth successive year, we are showcasing the strengths of Abu Dhabi in terms of tourism infrastructure at the ATM. Compared to the previous years, interest in Abu Dhabi as a business and leisure destination has increased significantly. We are reaching out to the world about our ambitious growth plans and new initiatives in line with the ADTA's strategy plan for the year 2008-2012. '
He said: 'At the ADTA, we consider ATM as an ideal platform for our public and private sector partners to benefit from our promotional drive to achieve the goals set for the Abu Dhabi for the tourism sector. Our participation in overseas travel and tourism exhibitions has increased and ADTA now participates in 17 exhibitions and workshops in the countries we consider as the source markets for our tourism industry.'
As per the ADTA Strategy Plan 2008-2012, the authority plans to open offices in Australia, China and Italy by the year 2012 in addition to the existing offices in the UK, Germany and France.
Mr. Dayne Lim Kok Chun, ADTA's Director of Product Development Division, said: 'Abu Dhabi was conducting a focused drive to create better awareness about the destination and effective networking to attract MICE business from different parts of the world and the ATM would be utilized to heighten these efforts. The global tourism and travel industry players would be able to learn about our infrastructure plans and the projects that are coming up until the year 2013.'
Abu Dhabi Stand 1,300 square metres - the biggest destination stand at the ATM for the second successive year. The Abu Dhabi Stand (UAE 430) is located in Hall 2 at DICEC. The region's biggest B2B tourism and travel event is expected to attract about 25,000 visitors from over 100 countries.
The stand features 34 booths and seven corporate corners, offering opportunities for 72 companies from the emirate's burgeoning tourism industry to showcase the best of Abu Dhabi in hospitality. The Heritage and Cultural Zones will provide the visitors glimpses into the emirate's rich history and traditions.
One of the highlights of the Abu Dhabi Stand is the Future Zone highlighting the projects of Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi Airports Company and Tourism Development and Investment Company. Four plasma TVs with 50 inch screens will be located adjacent to the models of the projects scheduled for completion between 2008 and 2013.
ADTA promotion creating demand at ATM for Abu Dhabi tourism industry
The 15th edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which opened at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre for a four-day run, is being utilized by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) to showcase the emirate's expanding tourism infrastructure.
