Dow appoints Emergency Services & Security and Environment, Health & Safety MENA Regional Head

The Dow Chemical Company, a leading diversified chemical and plastics company has appointed Donald Mascarenhas as head for Emergency Services & Security (ES&S) and Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) implementation process for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
In his new role, Mascarenhas expertise and experience will allow him to lead all MENA security and emergency planning, preparation and response related issues for the Dow and in support of its joint venture facility management. He will also be responsible for various external and internal clients, as well as, employee management in the MENA region. Mascarenhas will, as part of his dual role responsibility, report to Tim Scott, Chief Security Officer and global director of Emergency Services & Security (ES&S), and Frank Luijckx, Shared Services & EH&S director, India, Middle East & Africa (IMEA), The Dow Chemical Company.

Mascarenhas was previously with Union Carbide in 1985 at the Jebel Ali Distribution Terminal Operations in the UAE. In 1989, he took up the role of Safety engineer for the Terminal and Latex Manufacturing Plant until 1998 when he was appointed the Safety Manager for the Jebel Ali site.
Mascarenhas, an Indian citizen, has lived in Dubai for more than 18 years. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American Global International University in Florida, U.S.A. and has a diploma from Hebich German Technical Training Institute, in Karnataka, India. He is also a qualified SVA and EH&S auditor and has participated in numerous UCC & Dow EH&S audits worldwide.
