Thuraya will be taking part in this event at many levels. Thuraya's CEO Mr. Yousuf Al Sayed will be speaking at a session on the opening day entitled "Entrepreneurial Success Stories," along with high-profile speakers to highlight positive success models in Africa.
Secondly, Thuraya will also be sponsoring a Power Lunch hosted by the Secretary-General of the ITU, Dr. Hamdoun Toure, which will bring African telecom Ministers, CEOs and Director Generals of regulatory regimes. The aim of this meeting is to discussing key African ICT topics, such as "Investment Opportunities in Africa, the Connect World Initiative and the next steps after Kigali Meeting."
Additionally, Thuraya will be showcasing its innovative products and solutions at an exhibition booth, especially those designed for places like African communities and rural areas. Displayed will be mobile hand-held telephones, Gen-II Public Calling Office and payphones, Thuraya's broadband solution ThurayaDSL and ThurayaIP, Fixed Docking Units and Fleet Tracking.

He added that sponsoring this major ITU event is aimed at bringing Thuraya closer to its existing and potential partners in the African telecom and business community. "It's also part of the Company's endeavors to support the ITU's various initiatives and projects to develop and extend telecom connectivity around the world."
ITU Telecom Africa is one of the regional telecom events held in the African continent once every four years. It covers the African region and serves as a networking platform for Africa's top telecom and ICT players. ITU Telecom Africa includes an exhibition featuring the latest technology and innovations and a forum that explores key technologies, policies and applications driving the ICT sector.
