This opening reinforces Nokia's commitment to the Levant region and will play a pivotal role in augmenting Nokia's presence in the local market and ensuring that the company's growing customer base in Jordan has complete access to Nokia's mobile telecommunications technologies and to the expertise that supports them.
The growth in use of mobile devices is something Nokia has widely witnessed around the region. The subscriber growth rate in the Middle East and Africa is one of the highest in the world.
Nokia has forecasted a global market of 4 billion subscriptions in 2010, up from the current level of just over 3 billion and expects that nearly a quarter of the increase in subscriptions will come from the Middle East and Africa region which includes Jordan.
Nokia recognizes Jordan's extensive growth and leading position in the changing regional telecommunication industry, driven by greater customer awareness and interest in technology, increased technological complexity, rapid subscriber growth, convergence, and the consequent need by both network operators and consumers for greater levels of customised mobility solutions and local support.
Therefore, Nokia is committed, through its local office, to more actively respond to local consumers and their needs and improving their experience by offering them localized and tailor made services.
Furthermore, the office will serve to spread mobility throughout the country, which is an integral part of Nokia's continuing strategy to maximize its services, for the benefit of consumers in Jordan.
'We are very excited about the opening of the new office in Amman as it marks an important step forward for Nokia's operations in Jordan and the Levant region,' commented Haisam Jamal, General Manager for Nokia Levant. 'Given the tremendous potential in Jordan, where business is thriving and the need for connectivity is growing by the day, we are confident that our new set-up in Amman will serve to reinforce and strengthen Nokia's strong network of relationships that have been forged with the local market in the past'.
'Our dedication to our customers has made Nokia a leading mobility company and has been demonstrated time after time by our ever-growing product portfolio which contains a vast range of relevant devices, our extensive research and development, our vast experience and state-of-the-art products and our ability to move rapidly to meet demand; in Jordan, the Levant and throughout the entire Middle East region,' Jamal concluded.
