The Square Media One, named for its unique location at the forefront of Media City, is to be a fully connected and integrated corporate hotel catering to the needs of Media City’s professionals and visitors.
Designed as a four star but delivering five-star quality and service, Regional Director UAE Henning Fries describes the concept behind The Square as being corporate focused, where 70 to 80 percent of its business will come from the corporate sector found in and around Media City.
“The Square Media One is entirely dedicated to the Media City, Internet City and Knowledge Village population,” he says “It’s named The Square in the sense that it will be the meeting place of Media City; a gathering place for fast moving, cutting edge professionals.”
The 811,000 square foot Media One building is a mixed use development comprising of a hotel and offices. The hotel consists of 264 rooms, four F&B outlets, a gym, a swimming pool, a business centre, seven board rooms, retail space and a spacious lobby. The offices occupy the upper 20 levels of the building and will be rented on a shell and core basis.
Still in its conceptual stage where ideas are being tested for implementation, current plans and initiatives set The Square on a path to boast an impressive array of amenities and services.
“The brief is for the fast-paced, business lifestyle of the media world – trendy, chic and fun,” says Fries. “It’s a very stylish hotel and beautiful at the same time. Towards that end, The Square will be totally integrated with the latest technology.”
Focused toward the new media as it is, The Square offers connectivity and resources unique to its clientele of the fashionable and interactive found in Media City.
To complement the lifestyle of its clientele and location, a lounge-style roof top bar is set to become the destination for after work drinks and weekend fun.
