Fox Movies launches in the Middle East

Finally, the best of English movie TV entertainment arrives in the Middle East! Fox Movies, the new free-to-air English movie channel will go on-air from May 1, 2008.

Movie lovers across the Middle East will now be able to switch over to world-class movie entertainment with the launch of Fox Movies.

The new channel is brought to the region through a partnership between the highly successful & well loved local group, Rotana Media Services (RMS) and the internationally well-known Fox International Channels (FIC).

The best of Hollywood will only be a click of a remote away with Fox Movies for viewers from the confines of their homes.

Given its inherent connection to Hollywood through 20th Century Fox Studios, Fox Movies will undoubtedly present a line-up of movies, current as well as legendary, that are a must-watch for the movie aficionado!

The Channel will launch with the blockbuster movie Blade Runner - The Final Cut, Starring Harrison Ford and Directed by Ridley Scott. This will be the first time this version of the movie will be aired in the region.

In addition, Fox Movies will air commercial-free uninterrupted movies and interactive viewing choices.

Movies Uninterrupted gives viewers a chance to watch an entire movie, without being interrupted by advertisements or other breaks in the film whereas, 'Fox Movies Select' will allow viewers to text in their preferred choice from a list of movies for that evening's entertainment.

While being quintessentially Hollywood, Fox Movies is going to make the viewing experience as lively and interesting as possible through localized interstitials that will highlight viewers in their everyday lives.

The channel plans to get down into the streets and engage with audiences directly to put their interpretation of Hollywood onto TV screens, in between watching movies on the Fox Movie Channel.
