- PRESS RELEASE
Shoppers at Landmark Mall will be able to visit an interactive booth showcasing Hukoomi, Qatar's online gateway to government, from 8th to 17th May, 2008.
The Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) said the booth will allow people living and working in Qatar to find out more about how Hukoomi can make life easier, faster, and more efficient.
"Hukoomi representatives will be offering a one-on-one orientation of the portal and answering questions about the government information and services offered at www.gov.qa," said Yousef Al-Naama, ictQATAR's integrated e-Government (i-Gov) Program Manager.
"Hukoomi is the first major step in a nationwide effort to make government work better," he added.
At Hukoomi citizens, residents, businesses and visitors can find special sections designed to address their specific needs.
Mr. Al-Naama said visitors to the booth will be able to view a multi-media presentation and register online to use the portal's e-services.
"With a few clicks, Hukoomi users can renew their health cards and pay traffic fines and water and electricity bills. Citizens can also register new businesses and manage existing commercial registration processes online," Mr. Al-Naama explained.
