Meydan City and Meydan Business Park, close to Meydan Racecourse, have attracted phenomenal investor interest since it was unveiled to the world on March 30 last year.

"The Meydan team is creating an exceptional racecourse, business park and city that investors truly appreciate," says Mr. Saeed H Al -Tayer, Chairman of Meydan.

"The diverse mix of commercial, residential and leisure plots, all based around a horseracing facility, has resulted in a groundbreaking project, which greatly appeals to investors".

Mr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, Board Director of Meydan, added:

"Numerous accolades on the uniqueness and brilliant architecture of Meydan were received from the many international media and visitors who streamed into Dubai to attend the 2008 Dubai World Cup. These accolades are confirmation of the undeniable experience that Meydan will provide to international and local visitors once it is complete".

Commenting on the reasons behind the extraordinary level of sales, Meydan Commercial Director, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Nasser Al Khayat, said: "Firstly, it is strategically located in Dubai. In addition, the facilities, such as the grandstand, racecourse, marina, promenade, hotel and residential area within the development, make it a destination on its own.

"Investors recognize it as one of the best masterplans; for instance, every plot overlooks water - including the first boathouses situated on a canal in the UAE.

"The Meydan business park is unique as it will have a retail and leisure centre, business hotel, and tramlines connecting the grandstand and city. You could say that Meydan is a place for work, rest and leisure-time.

"It is reassuring for everyone involved to see that the development has been given plenty of credibility and a vote of confidence by some of the most high-profile companies in the region".

Meydan City is located in the heart of Dubai's burgeoning new urban frontier and within close proximity of Meydan Racecourse.

Conceived as a phased development, Meydan City covers approximately 43 million sq ft GFA on a land size of approx 15 million sq ft.

Consisting of commercial and residential plots, retail outlets and arcades with canal, waterfront and promenade views, Meydan City will support a thriving community.

Meydan Marina is to be located in the core of the development.

Pedestrian movement within Meydan City will be enhanced with bicycle lanes and tram lines along roads and parks, encouraging alternative means of clean and healthy transport.

Meydan Business Park, with over 2.9 million square feet of office space in 17 blocks, becomes the choice location for offices of the 21st century.

Created by putting people and the environment first, the office pods are set in single pedestrian podium with architecture, design and colour creating an environment-friendly workspace that inspires.

There is also an impressive workspace lobby which is an expansive 12-hectare landscaped podium, while the plaza cleverly conceals a 3,400-carpark facility for resident workforce.

Commenting on the project, Mr. Teo A Khing, Managing Director of Malaysian-based architect, Teo A Khing Design Consultants, said: "The Meydan master-planned community pays homage to sustainable environment development principles. Beyond buildings, we design and create memorable spaces and parks and waterways for the citizens of Dubai to showcase first-class amenities to the world".
