Dubai Duty Free, which announced a 31% increase in sales in the first quarter, came out tops in the readers' survey conducted by the magazine within the category 'Best Airport for Duty Free Shopping'.
The awards ceremony, which was held at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel, brought together leading executives from the travel and tourism. Guest speaker and former TV news reporter Martin Lewis presented the award to Salah Tahlak, Director for Corporate Communications of Dubai Duty Free.
Commenting on this latest award, Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free said: "Readers of the Business Traveller Middle East magazine are frequent travellers who have high expectations when it comes to service and quality. We thank them for once again voting for Dubai Duty Free and we are delighted to accept this award for the seventh consecutive year."
The Business Traveller Middle East award is the third major award to be won by Dubai Duty Free this year. In January, the operation received the Global Traveller Award for 'Best Duty Free Shops' from the US-based magazine and in March, Dubai Duty Free was named 'Airport Retailer of the Year' at the DFNI Global Awards for Travel Excellence held in London.
