InterContinental Hotels Group appoints new Director of Operations Egypt and Libya

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the appointment of Thierry Perrot as the new Director of Operations Egypt and Libya.
Perrot moves into this new function from his position as Area General Manager for InterContinental Hotels Group CityStars, Cairo, where he was instrumental in maintaining the hotels' position of excellence within Egypt.
Commenting on Perrot's recent appointment, John Bamsey, Chief Operating Officer, IHG Middle East and Africa said, "Thierry's passion and commitment to the hotel industry and IHG is evident. He has consistently displayed exceptional leadership skills and always delivers phenomenal results. We are delighted to welcome Thierry to the position of Director of Operations Egypt and Libya, an area rich in culture and history and a region that continues to be a tourist favourite."
Speaking about his promotion Perrot added, "This is an incredible opportunity and one that I am thrilled to have accepted. Having worked within IHG for over 27 years I am looking forward to this new and exciting challenge to work across Egypt and Libya as Director of Operations. These are thriving and rapidly evolving markets and I am confident that the team and I can continue to deliver incredible results."
Following his first role with the group in 1981 at InterContinental Geneva, Perrot moved into the position of Financial Controller, working in several locations including London and Nairobi. Perrot was then transferred and promoted to Director of Finance at the Carlton InterContinental Cannes in the South of France.
After six years, Perrot ventured to Asia where he took up the position of Regional Financial Controller for Indonesia, based at the Borobudur InterContinental Jakarta. He then took on the joint role of Regional Finance and Resident Manager at the same property. Staying in Asia, Perrot transferred to Seoul, Korea in 1999 to take up the role of Resident Manager at the Grand InterContinental Seoul, following which he then moved to the COEX InterContinental Seoul as Hotel Manager.
InterContinental Hotels Group currently operates 76 properties and 18,617 rooms within the Middle East and Africa with a further 43 properties and 11,126 rooms in the development pipeline.
