The award was in recognition of KIPCO's sale of Wataniya in March last year which is the largest private sector sale in the history of Kuwait, the biggest cross-border deal within the GCC and a record valuation in the telecoms industry.
In making their decision, the competition judges assessed over 700 applications.
Each deal was judged upon its complexity, the speed of execution and pricing performance.
Accepting the award on behalf of KIPCO, Mr Pinak Maitra, KIPCO's Group Chief Financial Officer, said:
"I am delighted to accept this award which recognizes KIPCO's sale of Wataniya Telecom. The deal was a tremendous achievement by our company and delivered an extraordinary level of return for our shareholders. We look forward to accepting many other awards like this in future as KIPCO continues to build businesses and create shareholder value".
