Harun has held his current position as Director of Food and Beverage for Grand Hyatt Amman since July 2006.
Internationally experienced, overwhelmingly self-motivated, enthusiastic, a person who thrives on challenges and well known to many in Amman, Harun is a graduate in Hotel and Tourism Management from Cukurova University in Turkey and holds a Master's degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Strathclyde in the UK.
Harun began his career with Hyatt International in 1998, when he was an outlet manager at Hyatt Regency Istanbul.
In 2002, Harun was promoted to Assistant Food and Beverage Director.
His outstanding performance and dedication to the company was particularly noted during his two-year tenure as Assistant Food and Beverage Director at Hyatt Regency Birmingham, as it was when he contributed to the successful opening of Hyatt Regency Kiev.
In addition to his broad international experience in food and beverage, Harun became Turkey's first official sommelier in 2000.
Following this distinction, he went on to be a semi-finalist in the most prestigious sommelier competition in Europe, held in Reims, France.
He was subsequently also a semi-finalist in the Best Sommelier in the World competition held in Canada in 2000.
Since then, Harun has participated in three European and two World Cup competitions.
He is currently Vice President of the Turkish Sommelier Association.
Outstanding dedication and an enduring love of food and beverage underscore the excellence that Harun has demonstrated as a Food and Beverage Director.

Grand Hyatt Amman has announced the promotion of Harun Dursun to the position of Executive Assistant Manager - Food and Beverage, effective May 1st 2008.
