Huawei's solutions support Africa's emerging economies

Africa's economical and social factors, such as its young populations and the low mobile and internet penetration, mean that the continent has very quickly become a focus for operators and vendors alike.

Although it makes business sense to be active here, Huawei believes that it is a mutually beneficial scenario.

Mr. Tian Feng, President of Huawei in the Middle East and North Africa region, said:

"The extraordinary growth in the African telecoms arena is very apparent, particularly in countries like Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa where telecoms activity is soaring. Although a very challenging environment, the continent presents Huawei with many opportunities to address the enormous potential and respond to the sophisticated demands by the local operators and consumers in these countries".

At ITU Telecom Africa, the company will present a host of activities from workshops on industry hot topics to live demonstrations of the latest innovative technologies that will revolutionize the industry.

Huawei's popular WiMAX demonstration truck will also be available to visit within the grounds of the convention centre.

The inside of the truck is fully equipped to demonstrate Huawei's successful E2E solutions (including WiMAX access network, IMS and application server) as well as VOD/FTP, radio monitoring, video back transmission, VoIP and TV Live.
