Organised by CPI Industry, the publishers of leading industry publications, Climate Control Middle East, MEGAWHAT, The Big Project and H2O, C3 saw over 500 participants (including speakers, exhibitors, and delegates) from the HVACR, related industries like real estate, and government bodies.

Leading industry players like Johnson Controls supported C3 as a platinum sponsor, Emerson Climate Technologies and Leroy Somer as Gold sponsors, Faisal Jassim Trading Co and TAS Middle East as Silver sponsors.

Speakers at the conference included leading international experts in the field like Dr. Essam Khalil, chairman of the Arab HVAC Code Committee, Mario Seneviratne, director for Green Technologies, Kimberly Hosken, Project Development Consultant for Building Efficiency at Johnson Controls to name just a few.

"This event is very useful and a much needed in the region," said Dr. Essam E. Khalil, chairman, Arab HVAC Code Committee. "The topics and speakers were carefully selected to cover both the scientific and technical aspects of the HVACR industry. I hope that more engineers and consultants take heed and join such events and help the HVACR industry in the region move forward".

Numir Bashir Musameh, Project Engineer, MAF Dalkia Middle East and a delegate at the conference agreed. "The quality of the speakers and the topics at the event were outstanding. All of them are in the forefront of technology and gave us an insight into technologies of the future. Our team found the conference very useful".

According to B Surendar, Editorial Director of CPI-Industry,

"The three days of the conference witnessed quality participation from the HVACR industry. The delegates posted some thought provoking questions to our panelists and speakers that have helped to clarify some of the issues discussed at the conference. This conference has allowed the industry to interact with some experts that they have been seeking to meet and discuss with like Ali bin Towaih, Executive Director, SEED for TECOM Investments and Tim Armstrong of WSP Middle East. We wanted to use this conference as a platform for sharing of the industry's concerns, ideas and perceptions. We have been very encouraged by the level of support and attendance at this inaugural conference".

John Hunter, former GM for Carrier and former Advisor to the Dubai Department of Economic Development was the Master of Ceremonies and Conference Director at C3.

He lived in Dubai from 1977 to 2002 as GM for Carrier as well as an advisor to the Dubai Department of Economic Development. Returning to Dubai for the conference, he noted that "the tremendous benefits of Dubai's growth also brought new challenges in terms of environment and quality of life".

"The C3 conference brings together government and private sector leaders to enhance the dialogue towards solving these new challenges. In solving problems around the world, the private sector looks to the government for guidance and regulations while the government looks to the private sector for innovation and new technologies. The C3 conference is a great opportunity for people to come together to meet the new challenges of Dubai".

With the increased awareness on Green Building technologies, C3 organised a Green Bazaar that focused on related products and services.

A dedicated workshop on Green Buildings is another highlight of the last day. The Emirates Green Building Council is the Green/Sustainability Advocate of the workshop.

Kimberly Hosken, Project Development Consultant, Building Efficiency, Johnson Controls commented, "This event is very exciting to see. We saw the same questions being asked here that we asked in the US 6-7 years ago when the Green Building initiative was first taken. Those that attended C3 will be the leaders of the future of this industry because they will be ahead of the others in this region. We know where this industry is going and can see the same steps being taken here".

Several HVACR specialists also used the opportunity to exhibit their products and solutions.

Nadia Jones, Marketing & Business Development Manager, Faisal Jassim Trading Co, silver sponsor and exhibitor was very pleased with the level of participation and attendance.
"This is a revolutionary event and a great initiative from CPI Industry. Saving energy and costs is a very important topic and we expect this to impact the industry. This is the first event that has focused on the topics that address the needs of the HVACR industry in the Middle East. I am confident that it will grow over the next few years".
