About Tabreed Bahrain:

Tabreed Bahrain - Bahrain District Cooling Company B.S.C. (Closed) - is a private sector joint venture company. Established in October 2004 and its one of the fastest growing companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Tabreed Bahrain provides district cooling services throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain with schemes in most of the areas.

Tabreed has been awarded four honors at the International District Cooling Conferences in Abu Dhabi in 2004 and in Arizona in USA in 2006. Most recently in 2007 Tabreed won The Shaikh Khahlifa Excellence award for the service sector.

Securing the most energy efficient cooling solutions is of very high importance, especially in warm climates countries. The depletion of the ozone layer due to emissions of CFC and other types of chlorinated refrigerants is a major issue that has been a key driver behind international growth in district cooling, which promises an alternative energy efficient and environmentally sound method of cooling. Chilled water is produced at a central plant and then piped underground to individual buildings.

"The benefits of this system are that you will have approximately 10 to 15% in capital savings. There will be lower government spending and reduced investment in electrical infrastructure. The operational risks will be far less of a headache as there is no maintenance of the building chillers and in the end you pay for what you consume.

In addition, District Cooling Systems are instrumental in reducing the harmful environmental emissions including air pollutants, the "greenhouse gas" carbon dioxide (CO2) and ozone-destroying refrigerants.
