The internal finishing for the various levels of the first tower housing the Emaar.E.C office and work on the surrounding parking floors are in progress. Construction of a second tower - positioned next to the Emaar.E.C building and set exclusively for Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), the prime facilitator of KAEC - is fast progressing and is expected to be completed by end of this year.
Mr Fahd Al-Rasheed, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar.E.C, said:
'Emaar.E.C is committed to executing the various components of KAEC on schedule. Bay La Sun Village is the first integrated community that has been launched in KAEC, and the Business Park will be a nodal centre that will drive the on-site activities of Emaar.E.C while also welcoming the first commercial offices within the mega-project.'
He added: 'With the roll-out of the Business Park and Bay La Sun Village residences, the first KAEC community will take shape. The on-schedule progress of the project underscores our corporate responsibility to develop KAEC as a strong investment destination in Saudi Arabia in line with the Kingdom's Vision10x10 to become one of the most competitive countries in the world by 2010.'
Dr Hosam Jomah, Executive Director - Projects, Emaar.E.C, added: 'The Business Park is a five-building cluster with a total area of 258,000 sq m, and will feature the entire range of business amenities such as hi-speed Internet and telecom connectivity and high-quality finishes that are important to our customers. A day care centre, retail outlets and restaurants will add to the lifestyle facilities of the Business Park.'
KAEC is the single largest private sector-led project in the region spanning 168 million sq m and has six key components: the Sea Port, Industrial Zone, Central Business District (including the Financial District), Resort District, Educational Zone and Residential Communities. Work is progressing according to schedule on the various zones.
