Abu Dhabi Women's College (ADWC) Business Diploma students sponsored "Embassy Day" on the ADWC campus on Tuesday, 29th April.
Representatives from international embassies located throughout the UAE attended the gathering to provide information about the many different cultures living in Abu Dhabi.

The event was a celebration of diversity and provided students, faculty and staff an opportunity for cultural awareness and exchange.

Country representatives set up stands and displays which provided information on the history, language and culture of the respective regions.

Countries participating in the event included Algeria, Bahrain, Austria, Australia, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, Germany and Spain.

The country exhibits included historical artefacts, paintings, pictures, drawings and national costumes.

In addition, the country representatives provided samplings of traditional foods and gave brief foreign language classes to teach common words and phrases of the various national languages.

"We want our students to be culturally aware of the world around us," said Dr. Brad Cook, Director of ADWC. "Events such as this are an innovative method of teaching and they give our students a chance to actively participate in the learning process. This level of participation increases our students' international awareness and expands their view of the global community of which we are all a part".
