The technically advanced model is aimed at photo enthusiasts, photographers and small businesses who require all the benefits of a professional scanner at an affordable price.

Its technology enables fast scanning speeds and the ability to produce superior images. As with all scanners in the Perfection range, the Perfection 2450 PHOTO also features the EPSON smart panel, with a new Scan to Web feature. Users can scan their images directly to the EPSON Photo Sharing web site and then invite guests to admire their collections.

The new model sits at the top of the consumer range and features EPSON's Matrix CCD with EPSON Micro Step Drive technology. It produces a true 2400 x 4800 dpi, has a 48bit colour depth and will capture over a staggering 281 trillion colours ensuring even the most subtle colour changes will be recognised.

The Perfection 2450 PHOTO uses the very latest "On-Chip Microlens Technology". The Microlens gathers light volume at the centre of the photo diode, which results in greater light volume, producing better image quality, faster scans and less 'noise' on your image. The Perfection 2450 PHOTO is therefore capable of producing better quality output than other 2400dpi models.

The new USB 2.0 & IEEE 1394 (Firewire) ports ensure scanning is quick and easy. Negatives and transparencies can be scanned with the built-in 4" x 9" transparency unit. All images can be enhanced and manipulated via the new Adobe Photoshop Elements, included in the box.

Khalil El Dalu, EPSON Middle East General Manager comments, "The Perfection 2450 PHOTO is EPSON's most technically advanced consumer scanner incorporating a host of features that ensure it is ideal for amateur and professional photographers who want a cost effective, easy to use scanner with superior output.

The new scan to web feature allows users to download images directly to the web, a useful feature if they wish to share photos in a private album on EPSON's new photosharing website".
