Batelco has also satisfied similar orders of other alternative operators.
Commenting on the issue TRA's General Director Mr. Alan Horne said 'I would like to praise Batelco for constructive approach in taking the necessary actions not only to follow the details of TRA's Order and meet their obligations by providing the leased line services to 2Connect but also in providing leased lines to other operators. This reflects Batelco's understanding to its obligations to work with other licensed operators in a collaborative manner for the benefit of Bahrain and consumers.'
Alan Horne went on to say 'I encourage Batelco to further develop and improve services to both wholesale and retail customers on equal terms for the benefit of Batelco, its employees, its shareholders and certainly the Kingdom'.
Underpinning its duty to promote fair competition among licensed operators, TRA will continue to monitor the market to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Telecommunications Law and the Regulations.
