Dubai Silicon Oasis awarded 'Best Fixed Network Implementation' at the NME Innovation Awards 2008

Dubai Silicon Oasis, the region's premier hub for high-tech industries, was presented with "The Best Fixed Network Implementation" award yesterday Tuesday May 13 at the Network Middle East Innovation Awards 2008, the region's leading information technology infrastructure title.
15 awards were presented at the ceremony, and winners were judged by a team of industry judges, including premier networking professionals and industry analysts who experienced the region's IT adoption and usage over many years.
Accepting the award on behalf of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, Abdulsalam Al Bastaki, Director of IT & Services, said: "It gives us great pleasure to accept this award, which clearly demonstrates our commitment towards building a state-of-the-art technology park based on best practices. Moreover, this award will definitely motivate us to present more efforts to further drive our standards towards higher levels".
He added: "Our appreciation and gratitude goes to DSOA management as well as employees who have clearly communicated the vision and mission of the organization and have demonstrated serious efforts to set the standards high, and for us the quality movement does not stop at any particular level; it is a continuous journey of setting and attaining new heights".
Network Middle East sets out to honour the projects, people, suppliers and service providers that have excelled in the regional networking sector every year, with NME's Innovation Awards awarded to the very best implementations, vendor offerings and key individuals and organisations in the market.
A wholly-owned entity of the Government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for semiconductors, microelectronics and other electronics-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D divisions in Dubai.
