TEXMAS which was established in 1990 and the value of textile business in the region is estimated at $4bn.
The event was aimed at recognizing the excellent services provided by DNRD to the textile sector in the UAE.
In his speech, Mr. Ramchandani, Senior TEXMAS Committee Member said,
'We as businessmen appreciate the great help offered by the government of Dubai, and all the other government entities specially the DNRD. We are extremely privileged to take part in the development of Dubai and placing the emirate in the world map of the most successful economies, in accordance with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai'.
Facilities to businessmen and public were introduced to the guests such as the Distinguished Guest Service offered to frequent business visitors to Dubai, Amer, a complaint and suggestion service which can be accessed via toll free number 8005111, Jadded Service, SMS notifications sent to subscribers on visa expiry dates and other such alerts and the Tasaheel Service offered to guests arriving at the Dubai airport to facilitate their passport control procedures.
The on-line visa application service was highly praised due to its efficiency and reducing the commuting time.
Al Marri said, 'DNRD has adopted a policy of strengthening strategic partnership with all the parties playing a vital role in the growth of trade and tourism in the UAE. TEXMAS is one of those most important strategic partners.' He also added, 'These gatherings aimed at creating avenues of fruitful cooperation between DNRD and all our stakeholders to discuss issues of concern and find prompt solutions to them'.
Ashok Sawlani, Honourary President of Texmas, praised the remarkable improvement in DNRD's services, especially in the last two years.
He hailed Al Marri for leading DNRD to become one of the most efficient and professional departments of the government of Dubai.
DNRD and TEXMAS officials exchanged mementoes of appreciation at the event.
