Teachers want more money
United Arab Emirates: Sunday, May 18 - 2008 at 07:53
Teachers in private and public schools in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have complained that their salaries are too low. According to a report in Gulf News, some experienced teachers in Indian private schools in the UAE earn as little Dhs2,500 a month. But low pay is not restricted to those from the sub-continent. It found a Bahrani teacher with 25 years experience earning just Dhs5,000. A government official said they were studying the pay teachers receive and were considering 'overhauling the entire education sector by law, including teacher's salaries'.
