Oman to invest $10bn in oil production

Oman is investing $10bn until 2011 in a programme to boost oil production. By using enhanced oil recovery - using gas to pump out additional crude - the country believes it can hit 900,000 barrels a day. Oman also needs to improve the infrastructure in its oil fields to help increase production. It currently pumps about 710,000 barrels per day, and wants to hit 790,000 a day this year.
