The award comes in the wake of BTAT developing the Middle East's largest converged IP network, with close to 65,000 IP service outlets in a closed complex for King Abdulaziz Endowment Project.
The gala event, aimed at honouring the projects, people, suppliers and service providers responsible for driving regional standards forward hosted 300 of the region's leading information technology infrastructure and network professionals.
Speaking at the occasion Bandar Hamad Alayed, Business Development Manager at BTAT said, 'BTAT is proud to be one of those spearheading a new technological era in the region.
'Our ongoing aim is to develop and introduce new concepts in smart technology, streamlining business, building and adding to a comprehensive knowledge economy - to which superior communications infrastructure is key'.
Alayed says the King Abdulaziz Endowment Project, the first phase of which went live in 2006, consists of a 550 meter-high mega residential and commercial project with a built up area exceeding 1.8 million square metres.
It includes an 11-storey main building and seven adjacent towers, designed to accommodate over 800 shopping outlets, and 75,000 tenants.
All buildings within the project are connected by a single, highly-advanced converged network.
All network components are built with the singular aim of using technology for better living conditions for the residents and more efficient management for commercial outlets.
The network also allows for the addition of applications for any future requirements.
The single IP network transmits over 18 different applications for communication, multimedia, security and utility systems.
Services range from telephony, video conferencing, CCTV, high speed internet, and access control to home automation and integrated building management systems.
