He brings with him over 12 years of substantial international Management, IT and Engineering experience and has held various senior positions in major global and small to medium size organizations including Digital View Ltd, Xn Corporation and Advanced Television Research.
Most recently he has worked as a Management and Business Development Consultant in the United Kingdom. While Rafid will have overall responsibility for operations in Oman, he will also support Infocomm's international expansion and growth strategy.
'I'm particularly excited about joining Infocomm at this time,' says Rafid. 'm-Commerce is taking off in the region. Just look at the way Omani brands are now using text messaging. It's no longer just for one-off promotions to satisfy another consumer 'fad', but as part of an ongoing marketing strategy, aimed at retaining and rewarding loyalty, as well as driving sales. Brands are facing an increasingly saturated marketplace where it's difficult to make their voice heard and so are increasingly turning to SMS. Indeed, in combination with traditional techniques, text messaging is helping them to provide that essential competitive edge. This is an area where Infocomm has real expertise and the commercial opportunities are substantial. On top of this, Infocomm has recently rolled out major projects internationally and I'm looking forward to building on this success. I have to say I relish the challenges ahead'.
