DM wins 8 Dubai Government Excellence awards

Dubai Municipality bagged eight awards in the Dubai Government Excellence Programme 2008, which were presented at Madinat Jumeirah by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
The Distinguished Government Department award won by the Buildings Department in the Municipality was received by Eng. Essa Al Maidour, Assistant Director General for Engineering and Planning Sector and the officials of the Buildings Department.
The Distinguished Government Employee award was won by Eng. Salem Bin Mesmar, Assistant Director General for Health, Safety & Environment Monitoring Sector. Osama Hashim Al Safi, Head of Executive Planning Section in the Planning Department received the Distinguished Administrative Employee award.
Saad Hashim Ibrahim, Senior Health Officer won an award for creative performance for discovering the spread of dangerous bacteria in the water used in mouth rinsing in dentistry clinics and laying out many health terms and conditions as well as engineering standards for ventilation systems.
Eng. Shaikha Al Abar, Interior Designer in the Municipality also received an award in the same category for introducing creative designs for many museums, exhibitions and architectural models such as "Beit Al Hijn" (House of Camels) and House of Traditional Architecture.
In the Unknown Soldiers category Abdussalam Azizurrahman, a cleaning worker in the Waster Management Department and Aisha Mohammed Abdul Kareem Al Hashimi, Secretary in the Buildings Department won awards.
