Khalid M. Al Suwaidi, CEO of Mudara IOD said:
"The DDP will provide an invaluable tool for progressively improving board procedures across the region whilst raising awareness of the virtues of effective, transparent governance. In addition, the DDP will enable Mudara IOD members to benefit by drawing on the experience and expertise of a network of Mudara IOD branches that will be established and partnerships with recognised affiliate organisations."
Mudara - The Institute of Directors (IOD) is a representative body for directors and professionals in leading corporations in good business principles and practices with membership drawn from private and public sector enterprises in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA). Established at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Mudara IOD's vision is to be the region's leading international best practice professional membership organisation for board members and directors.
William Foster, Executive Director of the Mudara IOD added that: "By offering the Director Development Programme, IOD is affirming its commitment to raising the standards in board rooms across the region. With workshops designed to train and educate board members and directors, the DDP will ensure that good corporate governance procedures and sound managerial oversight are widely implemented throughout the region's businesses."
Commencing with the Director Development Programme, Mudara IOD will also offer several courses that meet training needs in specialist areas and address specific needs such as those earmarked exclusively for chairpersons, government entities and family-owned businesses.
Accredited by Riskmetrics (formerly ISS (International Shareholder Services)) the DDP Workshops offer an assessment test at the end of each Workshop. Attendees who pass the assessments will receive accreditation certificates and be eligible to take Mudara IOD's examination for Professional Director Certification.
