Director General of Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing praises Dubai Maritime City

Khalid Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai, has recently conducted a site visit of Dubai Maritime City, the world's first purpose-built maritime centre, where he was given an overview of the project and briefed on its progress and latest developments.

Amer Ali, CEO of Dubai Maritime City, together with other company officials, accompanied Bin Sulayem on the tour of the project, which is currently undergoing the third and final phase of construction - primarily involving infrastructure development.

Bin Sulayem expressed his admiration for the creativity and efforts that the Dubai Maritime City team has put into the project, particularly those related to tourism and recreation, and the rapid pace adopted in the project, emphasizing that Dubai Maritime City will be a unique waterfront destination and an important addition to Dubai's tourism offering.

Offering DTCM's support in promoting the project, Bin Sulayem said:

"After today's visit, I am confident that we can work jointly with Dubai Maritime City to promote this state-of-the-art development - built around the needs of the global maritime industry - regionally and internationally. Through this partnership, we will ensure that Dubai attracts the best global maritime organizations."


Dubai Maritime City - a member of the Dubai World Group of companies - is considered one of the best master planned maritime development projects in the world, encompassing 40 million cubic metres of reclaimed land.

On completion, the project will comprise a fully integrated community for business, industrial, residential, academic and recreational purposes encompassed within a unique maritime-themed lifestyle.
