The Road Show, which has evolved into an important event since its inception seven years ago is organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).

The Al Qasba delegation consisting of Hazem Sawaf, marketing manager, Ahmed Al Qaseer, business development manager, Hassan Hawara, Leasing Manager, is aiming at promoting the destination and the emirate of Sharjah, as a key tourist destination replete with cultural insights and great family entertainment facilities.

The Al Qasba delegation accompanied the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority representatives as well as many hotels, car rental companies, tour operators and many others.

Thanks to the huge influx of tourists from the GCC countries in the past year to Sharjah, the Al Qasba Development Authority is aiming at attracting greater numbers from the region this year through the expansion of their repertoire of activities.

Hazem Sawaf, Marketing Manager at Al Qasba Development Authority said,

'This is the third time Al Qasba is participating in the Road Show, which has played a pivoting role in attracting tourists to the emirate from the GCC countries during the past few years. Being the premier cultural and entertainment hub in the region, at Al Qasba we aim at providing visitors with a plethora of events, to suit every nationality and age group, living up to the reputation of the best family entertainment destination in the region. And it is through the participation of such exhibitions and shows as the Road Show, in a local as well as an international scale, that we extend to the world the wonderful travel, sightseeing and cultural opportunities the emirate of Sharjah has to offer. The representatives will showcase and introduce all the facilities and components of Al Qasba and all future events in the pipeline.'

The Road Show which will conclude on May 28, comes as part of SCTDA's ongoing efforts to promote Sharjah as a unique cultural destination of heritage for the entire family.

The entire delegation will cover all Gulf destinations including the capitals of Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia; the last of which features an itinerary including Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah.

Since its reopening in 2005 and a complete recent revamp which has attracted thousands of residents and tourists alike to the perfect family destination, Al Qasba has evolved as a perfect community location hosting a myriad of varying events.

It has proved to be a meeting place for all families who wish to experience high-class and modern entertainment, cultural and leisure attractions, which are original and based on traditional Arabian values.

One of the main attractions at Al Qasba is the Eye of the Emirates, the 60-metre highest observatory wheel in the region with 42 futuristic-looking, fully air-conditioned cabins.

Another notable attraction at Al Qasba is the 300-seat theatre which hosts various international entertainment events such as music concerts, annual film programs, galleries, handicrafts, and bazaars, to name a few.

Al Qasba also includes a large number of retail, food and beverage outlets. Visitors often find their choices of international cuisine at exquisite outdoor cafes and restaurants stretched at both sides of the canal. In addition to the traditional 'Abras', which ferry people in an exciting trip on the canal.

Created by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Authority is chaired by H.E. Shaikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi.
