Alfardan Group launches comprehensive development plans for its employees

As part of its continuous efforts to develop its human capital, Alfardan Group recently launched a series of Learning & Development programs to champion on-going employee development.

Company officials revealed that the Group has established partnerships with leading educational institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University and Harvard University to compliment existing principle-related and in-house programs. Program participant scoring is measured annually as part of the Balanced Scorecard and implicitly linked to performance and reward decisions.

"What differentiates our approach to Learning & Development is the diverse range of programs that cater to each stage of an employee's career development cycle and its integration within our performance and reward structure," said Samer Al-Khatib, Human Resources Director at Alfardan Holding Company.

"Employees have a vested interest in proactively managing their own career development. This further elevates Alfardan as an organisation that can provide a superior foundation for building a professional career, a place for people to learn, to achieve and to grow as we strive towards becoming the leading lifestyle goods and services provider in the Middle East," he added.

The Carnegie Mellon University Comprehensive Leadership Development Program is in the design phase and upon completion will be structured as a series of multiple day modules with embedded projects covering core management topics. It will be a module-based certificate program designed for high potentials, middle and senior level managers.

The Harvard General Management Program is comprised of 5 modules spanning over 12 weeks with 2 modules on campus (Massachusetts, USA) and is designed for senior level functional managers who have or are about to assume a general management position within the organisation.

Three business unit heads have been nominated to attend the program this year and include: Naim Majdalani (Alfardan Automobiles Company), Mohamed Kandeel (Alfardan Premier Motors and Sports Motors Company), and Muhibullah Mani (Alfardan Real Estate Company).

Alfardan Group is a large regional conglomerate with premium brands across multiple industry market segments, showing a commitment to excellence by sustaining a high performance organisation that consistently provides high quality service and products to clients.
