Imdaad delegation meets German Minister of Environment to discuss co-operation

The Imdaad team, led by CEO Mr. Jamal Abdullah Lootah, also sought to learn from Germany's vast experience in facilities management, so as to apply this know-how in projects supervised by the company in Dubai.

The delegation from Imdaad, which included Mr. Mahmood Rasheed, General Manager, and Mr. Ali Hassan Balooshi, Operations Manager, was in Munich to take part in the 15th International Trade Fair for Water-Sewage-Refuse-Recycling (IFAT 2008) which was held from May 5-9.

More than 2,000 exhibitors from 36 countries participated in this year's fair, which is a record. IFAT 2008 provided an ideal platform for the Imdaad delegation to get a closer look at the latest solutions in the fields of environment protection and waste treatment.

Following his meeting with the German Minister, Mr. Lootah said: 'We are glad that we received an overwhelming response from the German side to strengthen relations with the UAE in trade, commerce and industry. Germany is already one of the leading trade partners of the UAE. We also discussed means for closer co-operation in the field of environment conservation in light of the current boom in Dubai's industry, construction and tourism sectors. The discussions also focused on ways to transfer the latest technologies in the field of waste treatment of all kinds.'

'Our visit to the fair was very fruitful. We had the opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the latest technological developments in the fields of waste management, recycling and sewage treatment. We also got to know about the sophisticated state-of-the-art products for environmental solutions,' he added.

Mr. Lootah noted that Dubai is well aware of the serious environmental risks associated with waste and therefore sought to provide fool-proof treatment to minimise the dangers. Several projects have been launched in the fields of waste water and sewage treatment, recycling as well as environmental pollution control. Dubai has also been keen to encourage the private sector to invest in this field.

Imdaad is making extensive efforts to enhance its potential in order to provide fully-integrated services to the facilities and projects that it runs.
