The event which is sponsored by Dubai Industrial City runs from May 18 to 22nd and brings top experts in the field of business process management under one roof, discussing various topics related to managing risks and work processes from international and regional companies such as GlaxoSmithKline in pharmaceuticals, Aramco and Zamil Industrial company from Saudi Arabia, ABN Amro Bank, the US-based Dow Chemicals, and Zain Telecommunications from Bahrain.

Rashed Al Ansari, Vice president of Dubai Industrial City explained that the conference represents an excellent platform for Dubai Industrial City to showcase its risk based QHSE integrated management system, Dubai Quality Mark (DQM), which is based on the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 22000 and other international best practices.

"The Dubai Quality Mark (DQM) is internationally accepted as a global benchmark for integrated QHSE management system standard and offers an ideal solution to tackle challenges related to risk management. DQS - the German certification body for management systems - has validated Dubai Quality Mark as fully suitable to establish and implement an integrated management system in compliance with all global standards," He said.

Rashed stressed the adoption of DQM will help companies develop better management and operational approaches to their business as its rating is based on a three tier system that assesses the maturity levels of organizations and their commitment to implementing standards relevant to their fields.

He added that DQM is being implemented across organizations at Dubai Industrial City to benchmark results on the basis of a maturity & compliance index.

"QHSE statistical analysis is carried out across the industrial cluster to identify areas for improvement including preparation of action plans. Periodic QHSE index report is published for industries to compare their performance against international benchmarks," he added.

DQM is also supported by well defined audit governing procedures and audit protocols, in addition to programme management software that assists in the planning, reporting and rating of quality levels.

An integrity management team ensures overall compliance to governing procedures and endorses the final nomination for the DQM star awards.
