US Secretary of Education visits Zayed University

Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim Vice President of Zayed University received at the Dubai campus, US Secretary of Education, Her Excellency Margaret Spellings and discussed the important role education has played in making progress and economic development within the United Arab Emirates.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim briefed H.E Margaret Spellings on Zayed University's aim since it's establishment in 1998, which was to prepare female Emirati students for a meaningful and successful personal and professional life; and to graduate students who will help shape the future of the UAE and support the economic and social advancement of the UAE.

"Zayed University has managed with its distinguished faculty and commitment to meet the highest international standards to earn a reputation for academic excellence throughout the Gulf region,' said Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim.

During Her Excellency's visit to Zayed University, Margaret Spellings also met with students from and held talks on the role of Emirate women in contributing to nation building.

Later Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim escorted Her Excellency Margaret Spellings on a tour around the University's Dubai campus.
