Sirens were blasted throughout the property and the rescue teams conducted mass evacuations from the property.

Trucks and other Civil Defence vehicles rushed to the spot at the sound of fire sirens. Guests and staff gathered in a designated evacuation area outside the property.

The aim of the exercise was to create awareness on safety regulations within the property.

The drill was organised in collaboration with Dubai Civil Defence and gave ample information to guests on fire emergency procedures. They were apprised of the fire hazards and processes to which they can be exposed.

It also trained the property's staff in fire prevention, evacuation, fire safety, use of fire extinguishers and first aid.

Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer Al Bustan Centre & Residence, said:

"We are extremely thankful to Dubai Civil Defence for helping us hold this exercise at our property. During a fire there is no time to stop and think about an escape route - seconds are important! Knowing what to do before a fire occurs can save the life of our guests and employees! Thus the drill was conducted to inform guests that we give top priority to their safety and security."

Moussa added the property needed this drill to improve the performance of its staff. Such exercises re-examine the property's crisis preparedness and response efforts.
