UAE newspaper website hacked

The website of Sharjah-based Al Khaleej newspaper was hacked by Iranian nationalists early Tuesday, in what is believed to be the first such attack on a Gulf website, reported Gulf News. The website was restored within an hour after the attack, which is thought to have originated from two locations in Iran. Al Khaleej consultant Dr Khalid Abdullah said he believes the newspaper was targeted because of some of the positions it has taken and because of its prominence in the region.
