Qatari Diar to build Palestinian town

Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company yesterday signed a partnership to build Palestine's first planned community between Ramallah and Nablus on the West Bank. The town of Rawabi will consist of 5,000 affordable housing units and will cost more than $350m to build. Construction phases will span a 5-year period and ultimately, the town will be home to more than 40,000 people. The project will be developed and managed by Bayti, which is owned by Qatari Diar and Massar International.
