Enabling and infrastructure works are under way at the project that will throw open niche career opportunities through its key components of three five-star deluxe hotels, golf course and leisure club, marina and eco centre, as well as a vibrant retail souk.

Developed in partnership with Omran, a fully government owned company seeking to expand Oman's existing tourism industry through creating related infrastructure and facilities, Salam Yiti is on schedule for completion in 2013 as one of the most captivating tourism destinations.

Farhan Faraidooni, Executive Chairman of Sama Dubai, said: "Adequately qualified and trained Omani nationals will be the biggest beneficiaries of this employment opportunity at the Salam Yiti project. This is part of Sama Dubai's endeavour to launch developments that enable local communities to be self-reliant and promote the utilization of indigenous resources in order to contribute effectively to the country's economy."

Voted as 'Destination of the Year 2008' by renowned Vogue magazine/Conde Nast publication, Oman's lush wadis, diverse landscape and rich culture attract a consistent stream of eco-tourists.

Muscat, the capital city, is slated to form a major part of Oman's tourism drive over the next 7-10 years, with a specific focus on golf and marine activities.

Consequently, Salam Yiti's location with an extensive coastal view will prove ideal for the project's Marina and Diving Centre that will evolve as a premier destination for the water sports, including sailing and diving.

Regional golfing organisations also see Oman as an excellent opportunity for golf tourism and the development of the sport in the region.

Sama Dubai's golf and marina partners IGLS/Dubai Golf aim to pioneer the development of golf with the help of Oman's Ministry of Tourism.

Salam Yiti, an integrated residential resort handpicked between Oman's dramatic Al Hajar Ash Sharqi Mountains and the pristine beach below, covers 420 hectares of land and rises as high as 140 metres above sea level.

Just 15 minutes from Muscat, it is a development engulfed by mountains on the Yiti Beach.

Salam Yiti is 20 minutes from Ruwi and 40 minutes from the Muscat Seeb International airport.
