"Faberge has a long and illustrious history going all the way back in 1842 which enriched its design expression to extraordinary levels. It still applies techniques that were in vogue in the 16th-century France and is most famously known for its legendary Faberge eggs. Its Baselworld 08 collection embodies the mystique of its past with modern sensitivity,"
said Mr. Tawhid Abdullah Managing Director, Damas Jewellery.
Faberge is a brand truly synonymous with rich tradition. In its new Parapluie collection - a term referring to a parasol - vibrant colours come to the fore with enameled and guilloche, pendants, rings and earrings. The colours include lilac, light green, brown and light pink, appearing in classic patterns and whose remarkable brilliance is due to the use of genuine fire enamel in yellow and rose gold settings with a delicate sprinkling of diamonds.
The Abondance collection is once again a burst of glorious colour, this time mainly from precious stones and features circular rings in white gold, rose gold and pink fire enamel framing delightful 'drops' of pink tourmalines, amethysts, diamonds, garnets, palmera, citrines and peridots. Faberge then takes these elements to create tempting pendant, necklaces, earrings and rings.
The next is the sparkling Faberge's Jewellery collection in diamonds set in white and yellow gold. Here the designer takes strips of precious gold lined by brilliants and twines it effortlessly into very interesting oval forms to make pendants, drop earrings and rings perfect for day and evening wear.
As jeweller to the crown heads of Europe and several other nations, Faberge has always had only one mission - to create one-off pieces of marvel. It was in 1885 that the Tsar Alexander III commissioned the House of Faberge to make an Easter egg as a gift for the Empress Maria Fedorovna. It was to start a tradition that presented 54 important eggs of which only 42 survive today. In 2007, one of the eggs, the Rothschild Faberge egg made in 1902, signed and dated by Carl Faberge himself, was auctioned by Christies (London) for an awesome 1,9,000,000 pounds, the highest amount ever paid for a Russian jewellery item as well as the most expensive jewellery clock in the world to date.
It's this fabulous tradition behind each of its Baselworld jewellery where vision and craftsmanship rejoice in joyous partnership. Revel in Faberge's new Parapluie, Abondance and Jewellery collection now available in Damas Les Exclusive Boutiques in the UAE.
