Mr. Shankar Bose, General Manager of Bahwan Travel Agencies bested travel agents followed closely by runners up National Travel & Tourism, OUA Travel, Mezoon Travel and United Travel. The awards ceremony, presented by Mr. Peter Pollak, Regional Director for Lufthansa, was held before the more than 150 travel experts from the Sultanate's capital.
Also in attendance were Mr. Yazdi Mehta, Manager of Lufthansa and Peter Schilter, Manager of SWISS who expressed gratitude to the agents.
Mr. Yazdi Mehta said: 'Our heartfelt congratulations go to all our travel partners who have endeavoured to record another outstanding year for Lufthansa and SWISS.'
'Recognizing our partners in the industry is but one little way we can give back to their hard work for the past year and we look forward to a record-breaking 2008 with their continued support,' said Mr. Peter Shilter.
During the event, travel professionals were challenged to a game and winners went home with exciting prizes such as mobile phones, dinner and shopping vouchers and trips to Europe.
Lufthansa and SWISS honour travel partners
Lufthansa German Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines recently held the annual travel agent awards ceremony at the Mumtaz Mahal Restaurant to honour the outstanding contributions of their travel partners.
