Dubai Aluminium aims to grow share of Asian market

- PRESS RELEASE
Aiming to consolidate and grow its presence in the Far East and ASEAN regions, Dubai Aluminium Company Limited (Dubal) - the world's seventh largest producer of premium quality aluminium - will participate in the Aluminium China 2008 exhibition, which takes place from 28 to 30 May 2008 at the China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou in China's Guangdong Province.
Al Attar adds that, with China fast becoming the world's leading consumer of aluminium, the country represents one of the most important growth hubs for the industry.
"As in previous years, Aluminium China 2008 will focus on the region's extraordinary aluminium and application markets," he says. "An estimated 300 exhibitors and 8,000 visitors are expected to attend, giving it the potential to become the most influential aluminium exhibition in the region. Especially as the city of Guangzhou is both China's manufacturing capital and the heart of the country's aluminium-processing industry: it is home to literally hundreds of large- to medium-sized extrusion and rolling facilities."
Mohammad Al Mutawa, Dubal's Marketing & Sales Manager: Asia, is confident that Aluminium China 2008 will be attended by delegations from China and further a field, especially from South-East Asia, many of whom have been customers of Dubal for many years. Indeed, the Far East and ASEAN regions have represented Dubal's major markets since the company's inception. Together they currently account for about 39% of total annual production on average, of which approximately 45% is foundry alloy (primarily for automotive applications); 49% extrusion billet (used in the construction, industrial and transportation sectors) and 6% high purity aluminium (for the electronics and aerospace industries).
"Our participation at Aluminium China 2008 will reinforce the strong position that Dubal holds in the Asian markets by demonstrating our high quality standards, service ethics, reliable delivery and professionalism, as well as our sincere commitment to the market," says Al Mutawa. "It will also enable us to stay up-to-date with the changing market dynamics by giving us insight into market trends in terms of growth and business demands. In turn, this will equip Dubal to plan strategically for the additional volumes and product lines set to come on stream in a few years time, which will translate into sales growth opportunities in this vital region."
Al Attar concludes by saying that Dubal will also use Aluminium China 2008 to network with key players in diverse industry sectors and develop relationships with customers. "Our goal is to grow our business by contributing to the success of our customers' businesses," he says. "Accordingly, we are committed to service excellence, typified by manufacturing products that consistently meet customer specifications and delivering orders on time."
