The latest development is in line with the Fujairah Tourism Bureau's plans to boost hospitality and promote the emirate as an attractive investment centre.

Speaking at the 2008 Arabian Travel Market (ATM) exhibition on the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority's stand, Anthony Liddiard, CEO of Rmal Hospitality said: "We are committed to developing our property portfolio with a range of strategic investments in world-class brands and developments as well as supporting tourism initiatives in the UAE.

"The Fujairah resort is our second luxury property and after conducting extensive feasibility studies we recognise that this emirate will become a major hospitality epicentre in the Middle East."

The new luxury resort is being developed on a 132,000 square metre coastal plot, and will feature the latest amenities including Rmal Hospitality's signature restaurants, conference spaces and exceptional high-end spa facilities.

"We are in talks with exclusive international hotel operators and a major announcement will be made soon. We are confident that the appointment of the operator and the property will add a new dimension to the growing emirate of Fujairah," added Liddiard.

Fujairah offers a wide range of tourist attractions including a museum showcasing archaeological and ethnographic displays, several archaeological sites and ancient forts.

The new property is another success for the Al Fahim Group and Rmal Hospitality as it recently celebrated the structural completion of its first five-star property in Abu Dhabi.

The Arabian Travel Market is being held at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre from the 6th to 9th May 2008.
