Kicking off in Dubai and Cairo, the PartnerUp events will offer potential partners an insight into the storage business and how they can benefit from the current boom in the data infrastructure space.

According to Tony Ward, general manager & sales director MENAT (Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Pakistan), Hitachi Data Systems: 'Now is the time for value added resellers and integrators to be part of the incredible growth witnessed by the industry. Major growth is seen in sectors such as telecommunication, banking and healthcare, which is creating a big addressable storage market. Working with Tech Access, we aim to recruit a number of partners in each country, who understand the dynamics of their local markets and who have the capabilities to work with our customers and present the solutions portfolio we have to offer.'

HDS and Tech Access are seeking partners to focus on the mid-range and small to medium (SMB) business solutions including Adaptable Modular Storage, Workgroup Modular Storage, Simple Modular Storage series and the Essential NAS Platform. It has been shown that many mid-size companies face the same business pressures of much larger companies but do so with less resources. With many years of experience successfully serving the largest companies in the world, Hitachi Data Systems also delivers modular storage solutions for mid-size companies that help them compete in the marketplace. The Hitachi TagmaStore Adaptable Modular Storage family scales from 3 terrabytes to over 200 terrabytes and brings many enterprise-proven features like RAID-6, volume migration and distance replication to mid-size customers in affordable solutions

Umar Malik, senior vice president & chief financial officer, Tech Access said:

'We are proposing a number of channel programs whereby we can help value added resellers grasp this storage boom opportunity, giving them health incremental business growth. We have a wide reach of resellers in the Middle East and Africa region, which we are targeting through these series of events. By presenting the benefits of the PartnerUp Program, the industry-leading HDS storage technologies, and the opportunities we have identified in each of those country markets, we expect to sign up a number of new partners by the end of this series of events.'

There are two categories of partners within the Hitachi Data Systems TrueNorthTM Channel Partner Program. The Associate Partners, who are authorized resellers who focus on the full range of Hitachi Data Systems modular products, solutions and services, with emphasis on small, medium and mid-range storage markets. The Bronze Partners, who are authorized resellers who focus on a specific range of modular Hitachi Data Systems storage products with a primary target of serving small and medium business markets.
