Plug-Ins, already established as a premier destination for home and office automation, and consumer electronics, will also work closely with interior design and fit out contractors to ensure the smooth opening and operations of the new office.

"Office-In-A-Box fills a gap in the market addressing businesses looking for quick and affordable solutions for their office equipment needs without the hassles of multi-sourcing," said Vishesh Bhatia, Group Director (Electronics, Engineering & Technologies), Al-Futtaim Group.

"It signifies our commitment to the SME sector and SOHO business customers to help them get up and running swiftly as well as streamline their office automation and IT systems. New businesses will have the choice of selecting different packages depending upon office size and product density. These could include a full product portfolio a typical office would need such as PC, multifunction devices, telephone systems, copiers, conference room equipment etc.

"The package price would include delivery, installation, networking, enabling the devices and of course, a comprehensive maintenance facility including supply of consumables. Customers could select brands of their choice and Plug-ins would be pleased to customize the offering should this be the need," he added.

Techserve, Al-Futtaim Electronics' all in one unit for electronics service and systems integration needs, will ensure delivery and support for set-up and installation of the equipment including installing the computers (software & hardware), secure network, connectivity of all the equipment and all cabling.

There are various packages on offer in this service including post-sales support packages, on-site engineers, 24-hour service, outsourcing specialised electronic engineering services and replenishment packages. The Office-In-A-Box service could also include installation of basic accounting software.

Meanwhile, Al-Futtaim Electronics, a member of Al-Futtaim Group, announced that it is in advanced discussions with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), and its training partner Bedrock Learning, to provide training and certification aimed at advancing growth in the consumer electronics sector across the region.

Mr. Bhatia said training of industry professionals is imperative in order to meet the growing levels of sophistication among the consumers.

He said: "Al-Futtaim has always taken the lead in bringing many trend-setting initiatives to the region. This training initiative, a first for the region, will help raise the level of professionalism and service standards of the consumer electronics industry while also ensuring benchmark certification recognised across the CE spectrum. Cooperating with the prestigious CEA and Bedrock Learning to deliver learning and development to the trade, is a proud moment for Al-Futtaim Electronics and we are thankful to them for choosing us as their future partner in the region."
