  • PRESS RELEASE

H.H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, will attend the third annual ceremony of the Sharjah Tatweer Forum (Tatweer) tomorrow (Wednesday, May 28, 2008) at the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum, to mark the third anniversary of the Forum.

The Sharjah Tatweer Forum is the Emirate of Sharjah's ambitious initiative for building UAE Nationals' skills, fostering partnerships between private and public sectors and promoting development.

With the theme of "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow," the annual ceremony will be held under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and Honorary President of Sharjah Tatweer Forum; who himself decreed the formation of the Forum. The ceremony will highlight the growth in membership of the Forum to 240 members; unveil expansion plans and fresh initiatives such as the new Tatweer website and a planned headquarters for the Forum; and discuss future programs, activities, and cooperative agreements.

During the event, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah will present certificates to graduates of the second Tatweer Leadership Programme, in addition to honouring participants of the public private partnership programs. Tatweer will also recognise the efforts of its founding members, its sponsors, and organisations that have supported the Forum over the years in various ways.

Tatweer's major achievements during the past years include the launch of two pioneering programs, namely, the Tatweer Leadership Programme, a leadership initiative based on international best practices and similar programs, will begin its third cycle in September 2008; and the Public Private Partnership, a program promoting public and private sector partnership in developing Sharjah's socioeconomic conditions in line with H.H. Dr. Al Qassimi's vision. The Public Private Partnership program is currently being handled by the Institute for Public Private Partnerships.

Invited guests include the chairpersons and managers of government departments, heads of private sector companies, Academic institutions, and Sharjah Tatweer Forum members.

In line with one of its objectives of "Bringing out the Best in Sharjah," Tatweer hopes the venue of the annual ceremony - the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum - will be an added attraction, as the museum houses more than 120 vintage US and European cars owned by Sheikh Sultan, including cars manufactured in the year 1917.
