4th ICT Security Forum in Syria is launched

Under the patronage of Dr. Imad Al-Sabouni, the Syrian Minister of Communications & Technology, the Syrian Computer Society (SCS) and AL SALAM for Conferences are organising the 4th ICT Security Forum in Syria.

The forum will be held at Four Seasons Hotel Damascus on 1st and 2nd July 2008.

The importance of the 4th ICT Security Forum in Syria comes in accordance with the great developments of Information and Communication Technology and the expansion of its use and need as well as the newly encountered threats and dangers that have increased the necessity for IT Security.

With the serious trend towards boosting the sector of Information and Communication Technology in Syria, many initiatives and projects have been presented, among of which are the information services center, informatics communities in the Syrian Countryside, the project of designing a unified standard to automate the State administrative and financial operations, the E- Government, and Authorizing one or more GSM companies to operate in Syria by this year. All these projects aim to create an appropriate environment towards a comprehensive e-management in Syria.

Having achieved unmatched success, the previous three forums were held with a very wide local and international participation.

The forum will be attended by 700 specialists representing the elite of the most important international field specialized companies from ministries, directorates, financial institutions, Internet Service Providers, software designers, training centers, private industrial commercial companies and academies, who come to learn the latest developments on trends and threats, improve their skills, network with elite experts in this field.

The 2-days Forum discussions will cover the following areas:

• Internet and website security

• Wireless and Cell communication security

• E-business security

• Networks and Information system security

• Banking systems security according to present needs

• Hacking and attacking, and way of protection

• Encryption

• International and local pioneer experiences in ICT Security sector

The Accompanying Exhibition

The Forum will be accompanied by an exhibition in which many local and international parties will present the most up-to-date technologies, equipments and software that are related to ICT Security.

In addition to this they will show the latest developments and techniques they are using in ICT (Information Communication Technology) Security, Internet Services providers, Secure IT Systems and Equipments, Anti Virus, Security equipments, telecommunications sector and Training Centers.
