Novotel welcomes French football champions

Novotel hosted an exclusive party at the Novotel WTC to welcome French football club Olympique Lyonnais who flew in town for a charity match against UAE's own Al Shabab team.
The team recently became champions for the 7th consecutive year of Ligue 1, the most premier football league in France and popular through out Europe, and also won the Coupe De France for the first time since 1973.
The accomplishments mark the team's first double championship in history.
"It is a great honor to have the Olympique Lyonnais team here in Dubai. Novotel has a lot in common with them such as a desire to be a leader, a focus on team spirit and a capacity for innovation. We are proud to be partnered with such a prestigious club", said Christophe Landais, Managing Director, Accor Hospitality Middle East.
Welcoming the team along with Landais, were Helal Almarri, Director General, DWTC and other members of Accor Hospitality.
During the event, President of Olympique Lyonnais, Jean-Michel Aulas presented Almarri with a team jersey with the Novotel name across it.
On Novotel being featured on the player's jerseys, Almarri added "The team carries the name of one of our key strategic partners on the field and I must say they make it look very good.
Their record speaks for itself, they are champions. It is a privilege to be associated with a world class team such as the Olympique Lyonnais and we look forward to strengthening our relationship in the years to come."
On behalf of Olympique Lyonnais, Aulas said, "It has been an historic year for us. The team has put in a lot of effort and they deserve all the credit. We look forward to carrying this effort and having fun in tomorrows match against the well respected Al Shabab club." On being partnered with Novotel, Aulas had to add, "We see a lot of our team's characteristics in Novotel and believe we compliment each other."
The partnership between Novotel and Olympique Lyonnais generates a strong visibility connecting with over 20 million people through Europe, at the time of Champion's League matches.
The partnership also reaffirms Novotel's standing as a pioneer, alongside a club that is developing rapidly.
In the Middle East, Novotel continues to grow as a quality brand.
Along with Olympique Lyonnais, Novotel Middle East has established itself for a brighter future.
Olympique Lyonnais played Al Shabab at the Al Maktoum Stadium on Friday, May 30th.
Proceeds of the match were donated to the Dubai Care Association.
