Business Systems Group (BSG) was presented with the Technology Provider of the Year award at the recent Supply Chain & Transport Awards 2008, the leading celebration for the region's shipping, cargo and logistics industries.
"The market opportunity in the Arabian Peninsula, together with the fierce competition to succeed in the lucrative supply chain and transportation sector, means the Middle East is producing some of the most impressive players in the global logistics industry," comments Walid Akawi, CEO of ITP Publishing Group.
Now in its second year, the annual Supply Chain & Transport Awards set out to honor the regional and international players that have gone above and beyond in terms of their industry contribution.
16 awards were presented at the ceremony with categories covering the logistics, sea freight and air cargo sectors. The winners were judged by a prestigious panel of industry experts, selected from within the Middle East logistics industry.
Accepting the award on behalf of BSG, Nasser Tufail, Managing Director, said: "We are extremely delighted for being recognized with this year's 'Technology Provider of the Year award', particularly considering that those who made it to the final short list are very reputable companies, and were indeed formidable contenders for this prestigious industry award. This award reaffirms the trust our customers continue to repose in our solutions and services and demonstrates the tremendous business value that BSG can bring to bear for the logistics operations of our customers".
As logistics operations become increasingly technological, this award recognizes the technology provider that has supplied the market with cutting edge solutions to help companies increase their supply chain efficiencies.
"Winning this award from ITP validates our longstanding commitment to the region providing world-class Technology solutions backed-up by our extensive domain expertise that can add significant value to our customer's business," said Raheel Khan, Regional Manager at BSG.
Judges described BSG as one of the most active players in the Middle East's market for warehouse management systems, with a large number of customer wins over the past year, including companies such as Nikai, Sun and Sand Sports, Aptec, and GEAP Group.
"We have noted BSG's active market presence and consistent delivery and execution of Supply chain solutions to prominent customers, and it comes as no surprise that the distinguished judging panel deemed BSG worthy of this prestigious award", said Robeel Haq, Group Editor, ITP.
