- PRESS RELEASE
Brigade H.H. Sheikh Taleb Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Police inaugurated the Shamil Center for Vehicle Testing services at the Shamil service station in Ras Al Khaimah.
Brigade H.H. Sheikh Taleb Bin Saqr expressed, while addressing the press, his delight and pride with the high quality services provided by Emarat. He also praised the corporation's high level of skills and expertise in its field. He thanked the managed of the corporation for the continuous efforts to promote the business and push the services it provides towards excellence.
Expressing his deep appreciation for inaugurating the center, Dr. Al Shamsi thanked Brigade H.H. Sheikh Taleb Bin Saqr Al Qassimi for his presence. The new center is considered to be the first of a series to be opened in the Northern Emirates.
Two other centers are due to open in Fujairah, and Umm al Quwain.
This is based on a cooperation agreement between Emarat and the Ministry of Interior approved by Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior.
Dr.Al Shamsi indicated that these new centers aim at enhancing and developing the vehicle technical inspection and registration processes, while making these comprehensive services available under one roof. Another objective is to provide the proper environment for vehicle owners to complete these mandatory procedures.
He said that this service, which is provided by Emarat in selected service stations, is considered to be one of its kind in the Middle East region.
It streamlines the vehicle registration and inspection process, thus relieving traffic departments from the extra burden of ensuring road-worthy vehicles. In addition, the service is provided up to the highest standards, using the latest state-of-the-art technologies and automated systems in a comfortable and relaxing environment.
Dr. Al Shamsi asserted that this vital project will achieve major strides in the future to satisfy increased demand for these services and is in line with government guidelines for privatizing such programs in cooperation with police departments.
Mr. Ahmed Ismail Abdullah, Manager Vehicle Testing at Emarat, said that the services provided through the Shamil program aim at enhancing the level of technical inspection.
He added that the new centers in the Northern Emirates will apply the same standards of quality and efficiency, especially when it comes to the provision of safety and security measures based on the standards set by the Ministry of Interior.
Accordingly all systems and equipment have been programmed to use the same standards in a streamlined fashion to ensure the application of a unified system in all centers.
Mr Abdullah further added that the mechanism of testing vehicles at the Shamil Ras Al Khaimah Service Station, comprises new communication techniques connecting it to the Corporate headquarters database, as well as the sub data bases in the local traffic department in RAK and the mother database at the Ministry of Interior.
This has been achieved through the use of the latest data communication technologies provided by Etisalat which allow maximum speed in obtaining vehicle information in order to provide specialized service.
The inspection technology and data communication between Emarat, the Ministry of Interior and the local traffic departments in Dubai and the Northern Emirates is the first of its kind in the UAE when it comes to vehicle inspection and registration.
The new center features entry and exit points for vehicles, additional parking space for vehicles awaiting inspection and new facilities for technical inspection, in addition to a new facility for customers and management, which also comprises offices for selected insurance companies and is equipped with ATM machines.
The center also has a special waiting area for ladies, another for men and vast space for police officers and traffic staff to complete the required procedures. This is in addition to a specialized facility for issuing license plates, providing instant car inspection and registration for VIPs.
On top of these, individuals can apply for international driving licenses for more than 150 countries through the Shamil service employees, who have been authorized to issue the license and collect the fees.
The new center has also been equipped with the latest programs that enhance the process of inspecting vehicles, minimize manual data entry, and streamline the process of communicating data with the Ministry of Interior. This eases the process of recalling data and streamlines the procedures while maintaining maximum accuracy and speed.
As part of Emarat's concern for the provision of a comfortable and relaxing environment, staff have been appointed to welcome vehicle owners at the entrance and guide them towards the management and licensing building, where the insurance companies are also located. This process allows vehicle owners to select and choose between various insurance offers.
After that they head towards a waiting area where they are called upon to print the inspection certificate and pay the required fees for inspection.
Meanwhile, licensing is carried out by traffic department employees, who are in charge of entering insurance data, owner details, fee payment, traffic tickets payment, issuing receipts, printing new registration license and other services.
All this is accomplished under one roof without the need to go back and forth between various departments and offices.
